Today I woke up with a childhood craving. So I decided to do it wafers with nuts and caramel cream. I am a big fan of walnuts and caramel.

It's a recipe as simple as it is tasty. I used a small package of wafers. If you want a larger quantity of finished product and use a large package of wafers, then double the quantities.

About 30 pieces of wafers will come out of the quantities below.

Required quantities for wafers with nuts and delicious caramel cream:

  • 1 small packet of wafers
  • 150 g powdered sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 200 g butter (at room temperature)
  • 250 g sugar
  • 150 ml of water
  • 250 g ground walnuts

In a bowl, mix the butter with the powdered sugar until the mixture becomes a cream. Then add the eggs, one by one and continue to mix until they are all incorporated.

Caramel: for wafers with nuts and caramel:

In a saucepan add the caster sugar and water, bring to a boil until the sugar caramelizes and turns brown.

After the sugar has caramelized, add the creamy mixture of butter, sugar and eggs and then mix vigorously with a whisk or a wooden spoon. Boil until the resulting cream is caramel (brown).

Remove from the heat and add the walnuts. I fried the nuts before for a more intense flavor. Allow to cool to begin assembly.

When the cream is warm, we start assembling.

Method of preparation
